Rock-solid Vincent ends three-year title drought in Morocco

Scott Vincent dominated the International Series Morocco held at the challenging par-73 Royal Golf Dar Es Salam course, securing a four-shot victory with a total score of 14-under 278. His final round of 70 included 17 greens in regulation, with only two bogeys resulting from three-putts. This strong performance put him ahead of Thailand’s Danthai Boonma, who finished with a 66 to take second place at 10-under.

American Peter Uihlein struggled in the closing holes despite a promising start and ended tied for third alongside New Zealand’s Denzel Ieremia and Australia’s Maverick Antcliff, all finishing at 9-under. Austen Truslow, known for his height and experience on the Korn Ferry Tour, made a late surge with three consecutive birdies to claim sixth place, his best Asian Tour result.

This victory marked Vincent’s second on the Asian Tour and his first in over three years, reclaiming the top spot on the Asian Tour Order of Merit and placing second in The International Series Rankings behind Australian Lucas Herbert. After an early bogey in the final round, Vincent steadied himself and finished strongly with three birdies in his last four holes, including a decisive 20-foot putt on the 18th.

Vincent, who has elevated his game this season with the support of his childhood friend and caddie, Kyle Basson, emphasized the importance of maintaining a clear game plan and accepting inevitable mistakes on a demanding, tree-lined course like Dar Es Salam. He highlighted that success comes from focusing on executing each shot to the best of one’s ability and acknowledged that favorable circumstances and timing contributed to his exceptional week.

Meanwhile, Boonma set an early benchmark with his impressive 66, which included an eagle putt on the 17th after a strong drive. He credited his performance to playing calmly and taking one shot at a time.

Uihlein reflected on his performance by noting his struggle in the final holes throughout the tournament, despite making 20 birdies over the week. He acknowledged the need to eliminate some careless bogeys to convert scoring opportunities into better finishes.

The International Series Morocco also highlighted Morocco's growing role in the world golf scene, secured through an extended partnership with the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation aimed at fostering talent and hosting more events at venues like Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.

The next event in the International Series on the Asian Tour will be the Indonesian Masters at Royal Jakarta Golf Club in early October.
