Jakarta International Championships – Statistically speaking

Australian golfer Wade Ormsby clinched the Jakarta International Championship, marking his fifth Asian Tour win and second International Series title. Despite not playing his best on the final day, his exceptional short game and putting were key to his victory. Ormsby excelled at saving par, notably sinking an eight-foot putt on the last hole to force a playoff against Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent.

Ormsby’s putting stood out throughout the tournament at Damai Indah Golf – PIK Course; he needed only 23 putts in his opening round of six-under 64, the lowest for any round that week. He averaged 27.25 putts per round, ranking sixth overall. His scrambling ability was also strong, placing fourth among players who made the cut with an 81.82% success rate. These skills helped him limit mistakes, finishing tied for second with just five dropped shots during the event—two more than the leader, Thailand’s Poom Saksansin, who finished in a tie for third place.

Other stats for Ormsby included 1.7 putts per greens in regulation (T14), 69.64% fairways hit (T32), 69.44% greens in regulation (T45), and a driving distance of 286 yards (58th).

Scott Vincent, the runner-up, posted a tournament-low round of 62 in the third round, matching Thailand’s Tanapat Pichaikool’s second round score. Vincent’s iron play was impressive, with a greens in regulation average of 81.94%, ranking fifth. His other stats were 1.712 putts per GIR (19th), driving distance of 302.63 yards (20th), 66.07% fairways hit (T41), and 29.5 putts per round (T38).

Five players shared third place: Thailand’s Poom Saksansin, Sadom Kaewkanjana, and Pavit Tangkamolprasert, Zimbabwe’s Kieran Vincent, and Korea’s Doyeob Mun. Among them, Poom and Pavit stood out, both averaging 27 putts per round. Poom also led in scrambling (87.5%) and fewest bogies or worse (three bogies), while ranking second in fairways hit (85.71%). Pavit ranked second in putts per GIR (1.64) and was among the leaders in most birdies (20).
